    Synchronize music, cases, and mixes

    • Q: How do I transfer tracks, cases and mixes to Pacemaker?

A: Tracks, cases, and mixes are transferred through simple drag-and-drop from the Editor section to the Device section of the Editor. You can transfer tracks, cases and mixes from the track-, case- and mix libraries of the Editor. Any metadata such as ID3-tag information, cue points, and BPM will be transferred along with the tracks.

    • Q: How do I transfer cases and mixes from Pacemaker to the Editor?

A: Cases and mixes are transferred through simple drag-and-drop from the Pacemaker section to the Editor section of the Editor.

It is not possible to transfer tracks from your Pacemaker to the Editor.

    • Q: How do I remove tracks, cases and mixes from Pacemaker?

A: Select the tracks (or cases and mixes) that you want to remove from the Device section of the Editor, then right click on one of the items and select “Delete” from the context menu (or alternatively select the items you want to remove and press the “Backspace”-key (Windows) or “Delete”-key (Mac) of your keyboard).

    • Q: How do I synchronize altered track metadata from the Editor to Pacemaker?

A: Modify the track metadata in the Editor track library, and then transfer the tracks with the altered metadata to the device. Only the metadata information that has been changed will be synced to your Pacemaker if the tracks are already available on your device.

    • Q: Can I on the Editor edit mixes created on the device?

A: Yes you can. You can play as well as edit your mixes as you like.

    • Q: Can I use Pacemaker without the Editor?

A: To be able to transfer music to the handheld device, you need the Editor. The Editor is available to download for free, for both Windows and Mac OSX.

    • Q: Can I transfer files directly from one Pacemaker to another?

A: No, that is not possible.

    • Q: Sometimes my Pacemaker won’t connect to my computer. Why?

A: If you cannot connect your Pacemaker device with your computer, the most likely reason is that Pacemaker is in charging mode (indicated by a charging screen or a blinking Play button). When Pacemaker is charging via USB, press the Settings button to enable a data connection to the computer.

    • Q: I transferred a mix to my device but I cannot play the mix on my Pacemaker as it was created. I can only see what tracks I used in it. Why?

A: When transferring a mix from the Editor mix library, the tracks and their cue points are transferred to device. To playback a mix on the device that was created in the Editor, you need to first export the mix as a digital audio file to your computer (see Editor FAQ), and then re-import the rendered/exported file to the Editor (represented as a track in the Editor track library) before transferring to the device for playback.

    Headphones monitoring

    • Q: Can I practice on my own, headphones only?

A: Yes. If you want to practice or listen to your mixing in peace, plug in the headphones only – the monitoring function enables listening to the cue channel, the lineout or anything in between in the headphones.

    • Q: Does Pacemaker support split cue?

A: The way we have solved it is that you can listen to either channel in the cue output, where you set on the headphone crossfader how much of a cue channel and line-out that is mixed into it – that is; in the cue output it is possible to listen to the cue channel only, or the line-out only, or anything in between. What we have not implemented is the option to mono mix and split the cue output, where you would have one channel mono in the left stereo channel and the other channel mono in the right stereo channel.

    • Q: Is the headphone output powerful enough to drive 250 ohm headphones?

      A: Yes.
